District Training Advisors

A key role in the adult training programme is that of the Training Advisor.   A Training Advisor (TA) supports up to a maximum of four people going through their training (although in practise it is likely to be one person at a time). The role is carried out in addition to normal Scouting commitments, with the appointment added to their appointments card.

Derek Hagan is responsible for supporting and assessing learners in Manager and Supporter roles through their leadership and management training up to the award of the Wood Badge, the training for these rolls is done at national level.

Validation Clinic

To allow adults in scouting to validate their training in a relaxed setting over a cuppa and biscuits, take a look in the county  calendar to find the next date. The training optional you may not need it, validation is essential to gain your woodbadge.

Training Advisor are still avable to validate out side of the Validation Clinic email Valerie Hagan if you would like a Training Advisor to meet with you.

Safety and Safeguarding Training

All adults in Scouting who are subject to an appointment review are required to complete approved safety and safeguarding training at least every five years (POR Appointments 5.d).

Ongoing training is available from County/Area/Region training teams or as an online alternative.
